First signatures were appended for the establishment of the world's largest capacity and highest efficiency Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) plant in Adana.
SASA signed a 935-million-dollar license and technical service agreement with the world giant American Invista (Koch Industries) for its PTA investment.
The facility, which will have a capacity of 1.5 million tons, will be put into operation at the end of 2022. At the same time, 400 new jobs will be created and the current account deficit of 300 million dollars will be closed.
İbrahim Erdemoğlu, Chairman of the Board of SASA, noted that with this development, SASA will become the largest manufacturer in its field except of China and India. This development will also begin to form the first step of the petrochemical investment to be made in Yumurtalık in Adana.
