Merinos - İbrahim Erdemoğlu Sports Complex, built in İzmir Torbalı under the sponsorship of Erdemoğlu Holding, has been put into service.

The inauguration of the complex, which was built in collaboration between Erdemoğlu Holding and Torbalı Municipality, was attended by Torbalı District Governor Ercan Öter, Torbalı Mayor Mithat Tekin, and Erdemoğlu Holding Chairman of the Board of Directors İbrahim Erdemoğlu, as well as administrative and civil officials and a large crowd of citizens

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, İbrahim Erdemoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Erdemoğlu Holding, said that Merinos, one of the Holding companies, started its activities in Torbalı in 2004. Erdemoğlu continued his speech as follows: "Our production activity, which started with furniture at first, continues in the fields of carpets and home textiles at the point we have reached today. We are very proud to have contributed to the economy and employment of Torbalı, which has become one of the rising industrial centers of our Aegean region, for almost 20 years. With this sports facility, we wanted to make our contribution to Torbalı in the areas of sports and social life, which are very important for the development of our youth. Hopefully, we will continue to be proud of our athletes trained in these facilities."

Torbalı Mayor Mithat Tekin and Torbalı District Governor Ercan Öter thanked İbrahim Erdemoğlu for his contributions to the district. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, a plaque of appreciation was presented to Erdemoğlu by Mayor Tekin.

After the people of Torbalı, who showed great interest in the inauguration, took their place in the tribunes, the young basketball and volleyball clubs of Torbalı played exhibition matches in addition to the dance performances of the young people.

Multi-purpose sports complex

Erdemoğlu Holding's 'Merinos - İbrahim Erdemoğlu Sports Complex,' the newest link of corporate social responsibility projects across the country in the field of sports, cost 30 million liras. The facility includes a multi-purpose indoor hall, which will be used primarily for basketball and volleyball, and an outdoor tennis court. It is also planned to include social facilities in the large garden of the sports complex with a special landscape in the future.
