With annual production of 700 thousand tons of polyester, SASA which is one of the world's leading manufacturer of Polyester, is preparing to meet the PTA demand of Turkey with its new plant to be established in Adana.

Mehmet Şeker, member of the Board of Directors of SASA Polyester Sanayi AŞ, says Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent that SASA is the largest polyester producer except of China and India.

Stating that the company signed an agreement of 935 million dollars with the American company Invista, one of the polyester giants of the world, Şeker said, 'With this agreement, we will establish a PTA plant in Adana. We are planning to commission this facility in 2022. The PTA we will produce in this plant was a product used by SASA and imported from abroad. Turkey spends $ 400 million a year for the import of this product. With the commissioning of our facility, we will produce 1.5 million tons per year. This is more than enough to meet the PTA demand of both our and Turkey. In this way, we will keep the money flowing abroad in our country, we will prevent the current account deficit and we will provide employment for 400 people. ' he says.
