SASA plans to improve its production capacity through two new facilities to be put into service in March and May, with an 800 million-dollar investment.

Following the new investments, Adana will attain the position of being the banner-bearing polyester base in Europe.

SASA, one of the deep-seated companies of the Turkish industry, is girding its loins for a colossal investment lunge in the polyester fiber, filament, and polymer sectors where it operates. SASA has reached a 425 million-dollar production capacity thanks to the facility put into service this year. The company that has undersigned an 800 million-dollar investment aims to increase its production volume to 1,5-2 billion dollars with those facilities. SASA is planning to be the polyester base of North Africa, the Middle East, Russia, and Europe through those investments.

IT WILL RANK IN TOP FIVE

İbrahim Erdemoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Erdemoğlu Holding that harbors noteworthy brands like Dinarsu and Merinos under its roof, stated that they have attained a significant production potential thanks to SASA that operates in Adana. Expressing that they are a candidate for the acquisition of the 8.5-million square-meter land that was previously allocated to the Çalık Holding in Yumurtalık and that they are waiting for final approvals, Erdemoğlu said, "The investment we consider to make there by 2031 is 11,5 billion dollars. We will make an 11,5 billion-dollar investment there by 2031. When we do so, we will prevent Turkey's annual deficit of five billion dollars. We have a large-scale study for the implementation of the project as a whole. We are currently discussing with giant worldwide companies. When we do so, we will prevent Turkey's annual deficit of five billion dollars. Once it was transformed into products and exported, we will prevent its current deficit of 12 to 15 billion dollars and take place among the top five in the world.”

30 BILLION-DOLLAR PRODUCTION IS POSSIBLE

İbrahim Erdemoğlu, Chairman of the ERDEMOĞLU Holding, pointed out that they have planned their main policy as the Holding toward becoming the polyester base of North Africa, the Middle East, Russia, and Europe and said, “When it happens... Turkey has 3.3 billion-dollar product imports. The product import of that region is 60 billion dollars. There is no reason to think that Turkey will not produce and sell 20-30 billion dollars of it. It is SASA’s national target.” Mentioning that they cannot compete with China and other countries in the world that produce their own raw material in that field, Erdemoğlu said that if they achieve their target, they will acquire four percent of Turkey's market and prevent a 15 billion-dollar current deficit.
